This tour includes bed & breakfast accommodation, a tour pack (including colour coded route directions and a map), luggage transfers and emergency telephone assistance.

3 days, 2 nights

You will enjoy two circular walks from Bourton on the Water.

Day 1 - A very pleasant Cotswold country walk with fine views over beguiling countryside, contrasting the hilltop village of Cold Aston with the sheltered valley setting of Naunton. You will pass the sparkling River Windrush in several places where you will see wild watercress, a sign of pure clear water, and finish the walk by following the beautiful river valley back to Bourton, one of the most picturesque village in the Cotswolds.
Day 2 - A varied walk today as you wander along several ancient bridleways and glimpse the lovely old villages of Great and Little Rissington. Visit over 140 acres of ancient water meadows, originally created in around 1844, and now being restored. These are very fertile areas and the warming waters promote plenty of fresh new grass for animal feeding. Wading birds such as curlew, redshank and snipe can sometimes be seen, as can an abundance of dragonflies and other water species.
Day 3 - A walk today over typical Cotswold pasture land crossing the Rivers Dikler and Eye with the chance to visit the pretty Cotswold villages of Upper and Lower Slaughter. The name Slaughter sounds rather bloodthirsty but actually originates from the from the Olde English for slough meaning marshy ground. The village is among the most picturesque with its little bridges, cottages and water mill.
