The Wonderful Way
Hilltop grassland, shady woods and the dramatic slopes of the escarpment include many specially protected habitats that shelter a variety of rare flora and fauna as well as relics of the area's historic inhabitants from prehistory to the beginnings of the Industrial Revolution. From the top of the escarpment wide views stretch across the Severn Vale, Malvern Hills, Royal Forest of Dean and, beyond that, into the Welsh mountains. Note: Some walks may start with a bus journey. Attractions: Belas Knap Long Barrow, Crickley Hill Fort, Sudeley Castle, Cleeve Hill, Leckhampton Hill, and Cranham Woods. This tour includes bed & breakfast accommodation, a tour pack (including colour coded route directions and a map), luggage transfers and emergency telephone assistance.

This tour is based in Cheltenham at the heart of the Cotswolds and involves one walk per day as follows:
Day 1 - Cheltenham Town Trail. A tour of this delightful regency town, taking in the most interesting buildings as well as exploring the town's history and the stories of some of the famous people who have lived there.
Day 2 - A circular walk visiting Leckhamptom Hill, The Devil's Chimney and Coberly and Seven Springs. Visit historical sites and enjoy stunning views from the Cotswold Way as you travel up Leckhampton Hill. Travel along the valley to the Seven Springs and relax in this beautiful countryside.
Day 3 - A linear walk including visits to Prinknash, Cranham, Birdlip, Barrow Wake and Crickley Hill. Cranham stands at the head of the valley of the River Frome and is famous after the composer Gustav Holst wrote 'In the Deep Midwinter' here. You'll go from here down the Cotswold escarpment and back to Cheltenham.
Day 4 - A linear walk visiting Winchcombe, Belas Knap, Cleeve Hill and Prestbury before returning to Cheltenham. You'll begin in Winchcombe, visiting the historic Sudeley Castle before crossing the open grassland of Cleeve Common back to Cheltenham. On the way, you'll see stunning views and visit a number of historic sites.
