The Munich Lake Cycling tour is considered an easy tour of the area. There are a few short ascents but overall it is an enjoyable bike ride for cyclists of every ability, travelling approximately 295km around the area. 8 days, 7 nights

Day 1: Individual Arrival in Munich
Welcome briefing and distribution of rental bikes. Bavaria’s capital city is waiting with its many sights, the English garden, the town hall and Hofbräuhaus.

Day 2: Munich – Murnau, Lake Staffelsee approx 65 km
Cycle from Munich through the Forstenrieder Park to Lake Starnberg. Continue on cycle paths that run along the shore of the lake to Seeshaupt. You pass through unspoilt Bavarian villages, past the Oster Lakes and the Rieg See to Murnau am Staffelsee to stay the night.
Day 3: Murnau – Garmisch Partenkirchen approx 40 km
Travel through the nature reserve of Murnauer Moor, the largest moor in central Europe and continue through the unspoilt countryside following the River Loisbach to Garmisch Partenkirchen. This stage is purposefully short, so that you can take the Zugspitzbahn to visit Germany's highest summit in the Alps at 2962m. Here you can admire the stunning views.
Day 4: Garmisch Partenkirchen – Wallgau approx 45 km
Take the train to Scharnitz and continue with a gentle climb through gorges and lush alpine fields to the source of the river Isar. Cycle through the sunny high-lying valley and admire the wonderful views of the Karwendel and Wetterstein Mountains. Continue through the Mittenwald forest to Wallgau – a village steeped in Bavarian tradition.

Day 5: Wallgau – Bad Tölz approx 50 km
Pass Isarwinkel to the turquoise waters of the Sylvenstein Lake, through the Lenggries to Bad Tolz. This town is at the junction of two trading routes, the Isar and the old salt route from Reichenhall to Allgä. It developed quickly into a flourishing trading post. The richly ornamented middle class houses are evidence of this golden age.
Day 6: Bad Tölz – Lake Tegernsee – Bad Tölz approx 45 km
A circular route past Lake Tegern and its wonderful views, to Gmund. Cycle along the Gaißbach valley back to Bad Tolz taking in the thermal springs of the famous Alpamare spa to rejunvenate your tired muscles.
Day 7: Bad Tölz – Munich approx 65 km
Follow the Isar cycle path through Garetsried and Wolfratshausen to Grunwald. There are a few short ascents along the way before reaching the Bavarian capital, Munich.
Day 8: Individual departure or additional nights.
